Qur'an Module 1 - Phonetics

This module introduces you to the 28 Quranic letters (Huruf ul Hijaiyyah), the proper pronunciation of each letter (Makharij ul Huruf) and their attributes. It goes further to introduce the Symbols (Tashkil) like Fathah, Kasrah, Dhommah, Sukun and Tashdid as well as the origin, functions and attributes of each Tashkil. Tanwin – its origin and attributes and long vowels (prolongation), (Madda) such as Alif, Wau and Ya’ are also introduced. Please note that this module is for beginners, i.e for those without any prior knowledge or very basic knowledge of QURAN reading.


Qur'an Module 2 - Basic Qur'an Reading

In this module you will be taught to recite the Holy Qur’an with proper pronunciation and Tajwid (to recite properly and beautifully). Tajwid consists of 2 categories:

  1. The correct and accurate pronunciation of various letters in different places and combinations

  2. The correct length and emphasis to the vowels under different circumstances

  • Further explanation on Izhar, Idgham, Iqlab
  • Explain the change of Tanwin into a short vowel after (al) is added to the indefinite noun.
  • Attention is to be drawn to the difference in pronouncing ( al ) with Moon Letters and Sun Letters.
  • Rules of Tajwid on Lam, Ra'
