Da'wah Awareness Training Program (DATP)

Total Duration: 9 Sessions (3 sessions per month)
Day & Time: Saturdays, 10am - 4pm
Da’wah Awareness Training Programme (DATP) is an initiative by Muslim Converts’ Association of Singapore to train and equip aspiring Da’wah workers, age 18 and above, with relevant knowledge and skills to present Islam confidently to the world and provides the platform for Muslims to gain expertise to perform Da’wah. At the end of the programme, participants will be able to share with their friends and family about Islam and show the positive side of Islam beyond media stereotypes.
Benefits of DATP:
• Participants will be able to meet, have discussions with other da'wah workers and practice doing da'wah works.
• Participants will master the contemporary da’wah techniques and develop the confidence to answer questions on Islam.
• Participants will have the opportunity to apply the acquired da’wah skills during the practical training sessions
• Participants will have the opportunity to be docents and volunteers of MCAS
The programme consists of 9 modules conducted fortnightly over a duration of 3 months. All modules will be conducted 3 times a month, every Saturday of the month. Students are expected to attend every module to receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program.

• Understanding Da’wah through the Arrival of Islam in Southeast Asia and Islamic History
• Contextualizing Da’wah
• Misconceptions towards Islam
• Intra-faith Dawah in Singapore
• Study of Religion & Interfaith Dialogue
• Awareness through Mosque Tour
& Field Practice (Chulia/Ghafoor)
• Presentation and Personal Communication Skills
• Digital Content Da’wah
• Community of Practice & Field Practice
Personal Reflections - Docents of MCAS
Participants who complete the programme will have the following opportunities:
• Interact with potential converts and befriend new converts
• Be docents and volunteers in Muslim Converts Association of Singapore and share on the beauty of Islam to people of different faith.
• Go out with MCAS during roadshows, open houses and book fairs and to volunteer at mosques that are open to tourists and visitors of other faiths.
1. What is a Da'ee or Da’wah worker?
A Da'ee is and arabic work for Da’wah worker, which means a person who has undergone training for the necessary knowledge and skills to share Islam. The Da’wah worker will be able to show the beauty of Islam through his actions and words.
2. What are the criteria of a Da’wah worker?
Passion to promote the true message of Islam and the will to acquire the relevant knowledge and skills.
3. Are there any requirements for the training programme?
Muslims aged at least 18 years old.
4. Do I need to pay for the programme?
Yes, A one-time, non- refundable course fee of $120 and registration fee of $10 have to be made to MCAS for the entire programme.
