Picture postings on social media could
also be interpreted in the wrong light by
some users. These unverified perceptions
may end up as fodder for gossip.
Regarding this, Allah (SWT) instructs in verse 12:
“O you who have believed, avoid much
[negative] assumption. Indeed, some
assumption is sin. And do not spy or
backbite each other. Would one of
you like to eat the f lesh of his brother
when dead? You would detest it. And
fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting
of repentance and Merciful”.
These Quranic verses - a guidance relevant
for all times and places - when applied would
greatly improve the quality of interaction
between users and create a positive
environment for all. May we continue to be
merciful netizens who spread peace and love.
