In 1402, Zheng He was appointed as Admiral of the
Treasure Fleet, commanding 317 ships and 27,870
men – among them were sailors, clerks, interpreters,
soldiers, artisans, medicine men and meteorologists.
Zheng He’s fleet was self-sufficient as it included
command ships, warships, treasure ships, horse
ships, grain ships and even water tankers.

Zheng He’s invincible fleet visited about 37 countries
