About The Programme
Quranic Phonetic Module, a part of Introduction to Quranic Literacy (INTRIQ), is a 6-months programme offered by Muslim Converts’ Association of Singapore (MCAS), also known as Darul Arqam Singapore.
This programme is designed to introduce the Quranic alphabets to students and guide them in their pursuit of attaining Quranic literacy. In this course, students will learn to identify all 28 Quranic alphabets and their joint forms, as well as reciting short sentences from common Surah in the Quran, thus attaining basic to intermediate fluency.
Upon Completion of the Quranic Phonetics Module, students may sign up for a follow up 6 months Quranic Tajweed Module. In this course, students will learn the proper recitation focusing on prolongation and other rules of recitation.
This course is open to adults, both Converts and Born Muslims.
The programme objectives are as follows:
- To provide basic Quranic literacy and fluency
- Preparatory course for future Certificate/Diploma in Quranic Studies
- To guide participants in reciting the Quran with proper Tajweed (Rulings of Recitation)*
